Dear Members and Residents,
It is with regret that we must inform you that the Mattabasset Pool will remain closed for the 2020 season. This was a very difficult decision that was given much consideration. We consulted both our Legal Representation and Insurance Companies regarding liability prior to making this decision. However, the ultimate decision is based on the risk of exposure to Covid-19 at the pool. We will not take the chance of having one Mattabasset Owner or Resident contract Covid-19 at the pool. This includes anyone who would could be in the pool area; Owners, Residents, Guests, Lifeguards, Volunteers or our Pool Manager. We will be repurposing the amount budgeted for Lifeguards’ pay to purchase new lounge chairs for 2021. Any leftover funds will be put in Capital Budget / Reserve Fund for a playscape in our playground area.
The rims removed from our basketball court will remain off.
This has been an incredibly challenging, tough, nerve racking, anxious year!!!! One that none of us will soon forget. We must remain safe, take all precautionary measures available and look out for and help others, especially the seniors of our community.
